Summer Assistant Social Services Apply Now

COSTI REQUIRES A SUMMER ASSISTANT SOCIAL SERVICES FOR ITS WESTON EMPLOYMENT SERVICES LOCATION

This is a non-Union 16 weeks contract position, part of Canada Summer Jobs, scheduled to work 35 hours per week.

Duties: • Review client’s file and assist with filing documents. • Meet with client to determine program eligibility, barriers and employment needs. • Answer phones and direct them to appropriate services • Ensure employer eligibility; complete the Employer Safe Work Form • Assist with updating employer database • Research/job shadow to secure new job opportunities for clients • Assist in employer recruitment and new job leads • Assist in organizing and running job fairs
Qualifications: • Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment. • Preference will be given to those enrolled in a post-secondary Social Services Worker or Administrative Program. • Is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. • Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/ territorial legislation and regulations. • Experience working with MS Office 2010 with emphasis on Excel and Word.
Location:	During the current COVID19 pandemic, work can be completed primarily remotely with equipment provided by COSTI. Once Public Health directives are lifted, this position will be working primarily from our Weston location. (1885 Weston Road, Toronto, ON)
Duration of Position:	May 31, 2021 to September 17, 2021
Starting Salary Range:	$14.25 per hour
