COSTI REQUIRES A FACILITATOR FOR ITS YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM IN THE GREATER TORONTO AREA

Duties:

• Provides client direct service and carries a small case load including follow up activities
• Conducts outreach activities and presentations to local Ontario Works offices, youth serving organizations and other community partners to ensure program targets are met
• Develops workshop schedules and delivers pre-employment workshop topics including introduction to online assessment tools including MineGage Virtual learning Software/ App. 
• Assists youth especially those with lower digital literacy to effectively utilize virtual tools, such as Zoom, Google Doc, and Microsoft Word applications in order to complete program activities and assignments.
•  Assists youth in participating and completing the Soft Skills and Customer Service certification workshops
• Engages guest speakers and assists in the planning and holding virtual events, job fairs and other Centre activities such as employer networking events, mentoring, and related employment-training sessions
• Develops and maintains employer contacts to create STEM mentoring, volunteering or related job opportunities for participants during or upon completion of the program.
• Supports marketing and outreach activities to promote programs and services to youth and employers.
• Liaises with program partners and refers clients to appropriate services in the community such as short-term skills training, EO/Employment Services, Mentoring, Mental and other Health supports, etc. as required.
• Maintains client database and conducts client follow ups on a needed basis supporting program by planning and meeting program targets
• Assists in preparing regular monthly, quarterly and annual statistical and narrative reports and maintains records.

Qualifications:

• Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
• Knowledge or background in STEM careers would be a valuable asset

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in job development for vulnerable newcomers, refugees, successfully placing individuals within their professions and/or chosen career paths
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in group facilitation and employment counselling experience, specifically with vulnerable newcomers and/or refugee youth on OW.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of online virtual software ie my Blueprint, career cruising and MS office.
• Demonstrated experience using Zoom and Google Doc
• Demonstrated experience working in a team environment with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
• Verbal and written fluency in English. The ability to speak any other language would be an asset.
• Must be available to work variable hours occasionally, depending on Centre activities and events.
• Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check. The VSS must have been completed within the past 6 months

Starting Salary Range:

$26.00 to $27.98 per hour
