Clinical Cousellor, Problem Gambling Apply Now

COSTI REQUIRES A CLINICAL COUNSELLOR FOR ITS FAMILY AND MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Duties:

• Facilitates intake and conducts mental health psycho social assessments.
• Provides crisis intervention.
• Provides counselling to women and their dependents who have experienced abuse.
• Provides counselling to individuals, couples and families harmed by gambling, technology use or gaming.
• Provides short term Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioural Treatment.
• Develops and implements a short term treatment plan.
• Provides individual, couples and family counselling to individuals, couples and families. experiencing personal, emotional or mental health problems.
• Co facilitates Partner Assault Response intervention group.
• Co facilitates Here to Help Group off site
• Conduct off site clinical visits.
• Facilitates psycho educational workshops on stress management, anxiety, depression and trauma.
• Provides counselling to youth and children.
• Makes referrals to appropriate health/mental health and social service agencies.
• Liaises with other organizations and service providers.
• Enters statistical client data in COSTI’s client database and prepares quarterly report.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent with one (1) year clinical counselling experience.
• Experience in facilitating group counselling.
• Sound culturally competent clinical skills.
• A second language will be an asset.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatments and psycho social interventions.
• Knowledge of Trauma theory and recovery.
• Knowledge of intimate partner abuse and impact on safety and wellbeing of women and their dependents.
• Knowledge of problem gambling, gaming disorders, problem technology use, and effective intervention to reduce harm.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sensitive to and aware of the social problems facing refugees and immigrants.
• Must have access to a vehicle.
• Must be able to work evenings.
• Must be flexible and work off site.

$60,095 - $64,677
