Microcomputer Training Instructor for Accounting Software

THE ENHANCED LANGUAGE TRAINING (ELT) PROGRAM, YORK REGION REQUIRES A MICROCOMPUTER TRAINING INSTRUCTOR FOR ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE

Duties:

  • Designs, implements and instructs 60 hour modular course for Accounting Software: SIMPLY ACCOUNTING, QUICKBOOKS and MICROSOFT EXCEL.
  • Conducts a needs assessment at the beginning of the program.
  • Designs and plans lessons based on learners’ needs and skills levels in support of the overall ELT curriculum for accounting professionals.
  • Delivers a range of course curriculum exercises within a classroom setting of diverse learners.
  • Conducts evaluation feedback surveys for curriculum and delivery and makes recommendations for change.
  • Prepares course materials and handouts for learners.
  • Monitors and documents learners’ participation and progress.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year experience providing adult instruction in the required accounting software.
  • Knowledge and experience in the accounting sector.
  • Adult education or teacher certification will be an asset.
  • Accounting software trainer certification will be an asset.
  • Ability to deliver instruction through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methodology to the needs/skill level of individual learners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.

    		 August 9, 2014 – September 27, 2014

    Starting Salary Range:

    		 $25.00 to $30.00 per hour

    		 This position is a non union contract position scheduled to work 60 hours (10 Saturdays) per cycle.
