Business Liaison

COSTI REQUIRES A BUSINESS LIAISON FOR ITS GTA EMPLOYMENT SERVICES LOCATIONS

Duties:

  • Conducts employer outreach and marketing of COSTI Employer Services, including Canada Ontario Jobs Grant (COJG), COSTI employment candidates.
  • Reviews employer eligibility and assists employers with COJG Employer Application Form. Utilizes COJG assessment tool to determine employer application suitability.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships to support client placement and new business opportunities and to meet program targets and quotas.
  • Maintains a databank of employers and job leads. Utilizes telephone contacts, site visits and other methods to understand long term business trends in order to be able to respond to employers’ immediate hiring needs.
  • Employs client marketing tools such as Skillsinternational.ca, CASIP Employer Tool Box, and TRIEC mentoring database and other on E line/web-based resources to meet employer skill needs.
  • Liaises with TRIEC Mentoring Partnership manager and CASIP peers to assist with corporate information sessions for mentor recruitment.
  • Participates in external business networking and committee meetings and events such as Chambers of Commerce committee meetings, Professional Immigrant Networks (PINS) etc.
  • Liaises and case conferences with Employment Consultants for candidates matching employers’ requirements.
  • Recruits mentors as a resource for client development and for job retention support, and informs employer of mentoring outcomes.
  • Provides post placement and quality assurance follow-up to employers, collects service quality feedback and addresses issues and concerns that arise.
  • Gathers up-to-date information on labour market trends, employer hiring processes and best practices for job placement, matching and retention and communicates to Employment Consultants.
  • Fulfills input and reporting requirements of TRIEC mentoring data base, Skillsinternational.ca and other web-based resources.
  • Maintains case notes and service entries throughout the client/employer relationship and compiles written and statistical reports as needed.
  • Prepares monthly statistical and narrative reports on employer contacts, placements and other activities as per funder performance management requirements.
  • Qualifications:

  • Career and Work diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • Must have nine (9) months full time experience working with employers and placing clients.
  • Strong marketing background with experience placing clients in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends.
  • Experience working with internationally trained professionals and diverse populations.
  • Thorough knowledge of job search techniques.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current computer packages: Word, Email, PowerPoint, internet, Access, Excel and a range of databases.
  • Travel within the GTA and Peel is essential so access to a car is required.

    Duration of Position:

    January 5, 2015 to March 31, 2015 (possible extension)

    Starting Salary Range:

    $23.85 to $25.67 per hour (or remain at current salary)

    Notes:

    This is a non-Union contract position scheduled to work 35 hours per week** **Hours of work shall be scheduled in accordance with Article 12.01and shall consist of five (5) seven (7) hour days, Monday to Friday. Priority consideration will be given to those on Notice of Recall.
