RAP Coordinator

COSTI REQUIRES A RAP COORDINATOR FOR ITS ORIENTATION TO ONTARIO (O2O) PROGRAM

Duties:

  • Works with members of the team to develop and implement detailed project work plans.
  • Collaborates closely with corresponding Coordinators.
  • Develops templates, formats, reports, forms, systems to effectively coordinate all aspects of the project.
  • Undertakes specific aspects of the project as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Train facilitator and provides additional support to facilitators as required for developing presentations using Prezi and Power Point.
  • Develops and deliver webinars in collaboration with partnering agencies.
  • Identifies and disseminates appropriate resources and supports as may be required by project deliverers.
  • Maintains electronic communication systems within the network of regular O2O and O2O for RAP service providers.
  • Liaises and maintains a productive working relationship with other professionals and service providers.
  • Provides necessary leadership to facilitators delivering workshops as well as online professional development support.
  • Creates opportunities for intra/inter agency collaboration and maintains and enhances relationships.
  • Observes delivery of the O2O workshops and contributes towards the models and operational performance.
  • Prepares accurate and detailed monthly, quarterly and year-end narrative and statistical progress reports for submission to Project Manager.
  • Takes minutes of meetings, coordinates distribution of workbooks.
  • Qualifications:

  • Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent, with a relevant housing practicum experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a front line worker delivering both newcomer orientation sessions and settlement services with a focus on initial settlement issues.
  • Six (6) months of experience in monitoring subcontracted community partners in a coordination capacity.
  • Six (6) months experience in developing and revising orientation material specifically designed for newcomer and refugee clients.
  • Must be able to speak Arabic. Fluency in other languages will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating refugees and newcomer orientation sessions.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering webinars using GoToWebinar and developing PowerPoint and Prezi presentations.
  • Familiarity with virtual meeting software – GoToMeeting. Experience in working with diverse communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Internet/E-mail.
  • Job will require travel in Ontario including but not limited to GTA, Thunder Bay, London, Ottawa, Windsor, Peterborough, Hamilton, Waterloo and York. Travel will also involve overnight stay.
  • Access to a car and valid driver license.

    Starting Salary Range:

    $46,829 to $50,401 per annum + benefits

    Notes:

    The Orientation to Ontario (O2O) is a province wide bilingual pilot with objectives to expedite and facilitate the settlement and integration of newcomers to Ontario. The project aims to deliver information to clients Online (O2O Website), Workshops and self-directed print resources (Workbook) to newcomers and refugees.
    This is a full time contract position scheduled to work 35 hours per week**.
    **Hours of work shall be scheduled in accordance with Article 12.01and shall consist of five (5) seven (7) hour days, Monday to Friday.
    Priority consideration given to those on notice of recall. Subject to response from those on notice of recall, this position may be open to union members on a Secondment basis.
