Employment Mentoring

COSTI REQUIRES AN EMPLOYMENT MENTORING COACH FOR
PEEL REGION

Duties:

  • Screens and assesses candidates who are ITI’s, to determine participant suitability for Mentoring Partnership as well as for the Employment Ontario, for the purpose of enhancing their employment opportunities in their field or related field.
  • Facilitates orientation and training sessions for both Mentees and Mentors, networking/special speaker events, topics that support, motivate and are relevant to both Mentors and Mentees, throughout the GTA.
  • Monitors the TRIEC data Matching System to identify potential Mentor matches and where possible ensures matches are made.
  • Evaluates the Mentoring matches during and upon completion of the process.
  • Supports and encourages Mentees and Mentors throughout the mentoring process.
  • Assists and develops placement opportunities for ITI’s who have completed the mentoring service and where appropriate initiates training on the job incentives for employers.
  • Maintains complete mentor-mentee case notes and service entries in the TRIEC Matching System as well as EO paper file throughout the client relationship.
  • Registers client with Employment Ontario using MTCU’s CaMs database.
  • Coaches and provides clients with pre-employment and post-employment mentoring opportunities.
  • Develops marketing strategies targeted at specific clients, employers, ITI serving organizations and professional groups/associations to promote the Mentoring Services.
  • Conducts exit interviews upon completion of the Mentoring process and acquires feedback on service quality and long term impact.
  • Follows up with clients to track outcomes.
  • Meets targets currently set at 3 mentee/mentor matches per week and 2 new mentors recruited per month (subject to change).
  • Collects and compiles statistical reports on weekly basis.
  • Works collectively within a team to meet contractual targets and deadlines.
  • Qualifications:

  • Career and Work diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year full-time Mentoring Coach and Job Development experience with internationally trained individuals.
  • Well-developed presentation skills and group facilitation techniques.
  • Must have strong case management and client employment service plan development skills.
  • Knowledge of job creation programs, education and training programs and subsidized training programs.
  • Knowledge of the current labour market and industry trends.
  • Experience in outreaching to internationally trained professionals, employers and the community in general.
  • Thorough knowledge of job search techniques.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to motivate others.
  • Able meet targets on a weekly basis.
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current computer packages: word, email, internet, access is required.
  • Must be willing to work at various locations across the GTA therefore access to a car is necessary.
  • Some evening work is required.

    October 11, 2016 – June 17, 2017

    Starting Salary Range:

    $44,294 to $47,672 per annum + Benefits

    Notes:

    This is a full time Union contract position scheduled to work 35 hours per week.***(Current incumbent is on a Secondment)
    ***Hours of work shall be scheduled in accordance with Article 12.01 and shall consist of five (5) seven (7) hour days, Monday to Friday.
