This is a six week, 36 hour course offered on Tuesday and Thursday. There is a $250 fee for this course.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • using the system manager;
  • setting up Accounts Payable, and entering transactions;
  • entering invoices and receipts;
  • setting up Accounts Receivable and Customer Records; and
  • preparing income and balance statements.

Employment Services - Information Session (1 hour) This Employment Services Information Session will familiarize individuals about resources available to them, not only through our self-directed Resource and Information Centre but also through the Assisted Employment Services available through Empolyment Ontario funded programs.                                                        

Second Career - Information Session - EO Services Information Session pre-requisite (2 hours)     The second career strategy information session will help recently laid-off, unemployed workers to make the transition to a new career in a high-skilled occupation that is in demand in their area. The strategy provides financial assistance, based on individual need, to help people with some of the costs of long-term training plans.

Enhanced Language Training for Accounting and Finance Professionals

COSTI's Enhanced Language Training program is ideal for Internationally Trained Professionals who have prior training in Accounting, Office Administration and Customer Service, or Health Care.

Services Available:

  • 10 weeks of Enhanced Language Training (sector specific language and terminology)
  • two weeks of pre-employment preparation workshops (e.g. resume preparation, interview techniques, workplace culture, ethics, employment standards, goal setting, labour market information, cold calling and networking, etc.)
  • 72 hours of computer skills upgrading
  • six weeks of assisted job placement and job search support

Services are available to individuals who have acquired professional qualifications outside of Canada and who have been unable to access employment in their field of expertise. Individuals must be able to communicate at an advanced level of English, and have occupational training and experience in the respective profession or trade. Participants must be landed, conventional refugees, or individuals on a Minister's Permit. Language assessments will be arranged to determine eligibility.
