Job Connect – Employment Counselling and Placement Services

COSTI’s Job Connect Program is an excellent starting point for adults looking to re-enter the workforce. The Counselling and Placement component provides adults with the employment preparation skills and knowledge needed to find and keep jobs. Services are provided through a comprehensive and integrated service model intended to address each individual’s needs.

Individuals clarify their employment needs and establish short-term and long-term goals. Employment Consultants provide individual counselling, pre-employment training, group workshops, and employment placement and referral services.

Services Available

One-on-one employment consultation.
Job placement assistance, i.e. referral to job leads, access to job postings.
Apprenticeship opportunities.
Subsidized on-the-job training and/or direct employment placement.
Development of an individualized “Return to Work” action plan.
Career exploration through job trials, job shadowing and volunteer opportunities.
Access to employment start-up supports, i.e. transportation, work attire, etc.
Followup and continued support.

Staff at the Toronto and Scarborough locations speak Amharic, Arabic Bulgarian, Cantonese, Dari, Farsi, Italian, Mandarin, Oromo, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinia, and Urdu.

Staff at the Vaughan location speak Amharic, Filpino, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Italian, Oromo, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, and Urdu.

Who is Eligible

Services are available to unemployed Toronto and York Region residents. Additional eligibility requirements may be necessary to access some services.

Tuesday – Thursday: 8:30 am to 7:00 pm
