COSTI Gala Dinner

COSTI Gala Dinner

In 1952, a group of individuals came together with a dream - to provide newcomers to Canada with the basic necessities of life, and to help them become participating and contributing members of Canadian society.

Since then, COSTI Immigrant Services has been making that dream a reality for thousands of individuals from across the world. Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers, staff, and the countless individuals, groups, and funders that have supported our vision, COSTI has grown and become an important part of the community.

From its origins as an organization focused on assisting Italian immigrants, to its expansion into employment and training, and to its ultimate evolution into Canada's largest multicultural agency dedicated to assisting all immigrant communities and ethno-racial populations in overcoming language, cultural, and financial barriers, COSTI has reason to celebrate.

To commemorate COSTI's accomplishments over the past five decades, a gala dinner was held on November 27 th , 2003 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto with close to 500 guests in attendance.

With the help of the evening's special guest, the Honourable James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, this event provided an opportunity to reflect on COSTI's achievements over the years, and to look towards the future - at what we want to accomplish, and what we strive to become - both as an organization and as a community.

This event also provided us with an opportunity to recognize the contributions of COSTI's founders and all those that have contributed to COSTI's success over the years.

More importantly, however, it provided a forum for us to celebrate multiculturalism, and to promote to the community at-large the importance of diversity in making this nation - and this city - what it is today.

With the help of our donors, volunteers, funders, and sponsors, COSTI looks forward to another 50 years of success - and to working together in making our community a better place for everyone.
