Learn Everyday Technology - Digital Literacy Training
The Learn Everyday Technology (LET) program is designed to bridge the digital gap for residents in the Region of Peel. This program provides vital digital access support, empowering individuals to cultivate essential skills and navigate technology with ease. Through personalized digital literacy workshops, participants gain proficiency in performing daily tasks efficiently, expanding their educational horizons and increasing their employability. By fostering connectivity and promoting self-sufficiency, LET contributes to building a stronger and more resilient community.
Services Available
Topic areas include:
- Introduction to Digital Literacy (basic computer skills, operating systems, file management)
- Internet Basics (introduction to Internet, web navigation, safety and security)
- Communication Tools (email, instant messaging, social media)
- Digital Productivity Tools (Microsoft Teams or Zoom, Google Workspace)
- Digital Citizenship (copyright, cyber ethics, digital footprint)
Who is Eligible
The program is available to newcomers and recipients of social assistance living in Peel Region.
Program Intake
The program is available both in-person and online, scheduled for two days per week over a five-week period.
In-person classes will be held on:
Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to Noon
Online classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
