Facilitator

COSTI REQUIRES A RAP SERVICE FACILIATOR FOR ITS ORIENTATION TO ONTARIO (O2O) PROGRAM

Duties:

  • Works with members of the team to develop and implement detailed project work plans..
  • Collaborates closely with corresponding Coordinators,
  • Develops templates, formats, reports, forms, systems to effectively coordinate all aspects of the project.
  • Develop a system for responding to clients emails and document record of services and activities in database and prepare necessary reports.
  • Develop a marketing strategy to promote project online and print resources across province.
  • Undertakes specific aspects of the project as assigned by the Project Manager, eg. researching and keeping abreast of refugees issues.
  • Trains facilitators and provides additional support to facilitators as required delivering O2O RAP workshops.
  • Creates and develops fact sheets/summary sheets from webinar.
  • Reviews translated Arabic documents and Arabic speaking webinars for accuracy.
  • Identifies and disseminates appropriate resources and supports as may be required by project deliverers.
  • Maintains electronic communication systems within the network of regular O2O and O2O for RAP service providers.
  • Liaises and maintains a productive working relationship with other professionals and service providers.
  • Provides necessary leadership to facilitators delivering workshops as well as online professional development support.
  • Creates opportunities for intra/inter agency collaboration and maintains and enhances relationships.
  • Observes delivery of the O2O workshops and contributes towards the models and operational performance.
  • Prepares accurate and detailed monthly, quarterly and year-end narrative and statistical progress reports for submission to Project Manager.
  • Takes minutes of meetings, coordinates distribution of workbooks.
  • Qualifications:

  • Social Service Worker Diploma or equivalent with relevant practicum experience.
  • One (1) years of experience as a front line worker delivering both newcomer orientation sessions and settlement services with a focus on initial settlement issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and revising orientation material specifically designed for newcomer and refugee clients.
  • Must be fluent in Arabic. Speaking, Reading & Writing
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating refugees and newcomer orientation sessions.
  • Experience in working with diverse communities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Internet/E-mail.
  • Job will require travel in Ontario including but not limited to GTA, Thunder Bay, London, Ottawa, Windsor, Peterborough, Hamilton, Waterloo and York. Travel will also involve overnight stay.
  • Access to a car and valid driver license.

    Starting Salary Range:

    $44,294 to $47,672 per annum + benefits

    Notes:

    This position will provide services primarily, but not exclusively to Arabic speaking refugees.

    Priority consideration will be given to those on Notice of Recall. Subject to response from those on notice of Recall, this position will be open to Union members on a Secondment basis.
