Housing Help Services

COSTI’s housing services provide a vital lifeline to individuals and families facing the ever-growing issues of homelessness and eviction. Without safe, secure housing, people too often remain trapped in a cycle of poverty. Our housing help services help them to take a major step towards self-reliance.

The Housing Help Centre works with individuals and families, assisting them in breaking free of the shelter system by overcoming barriers to securing safe, affordable, and adequate housing.

The Centre offers a holistic approach to service, providing crisis intervention; housing search support; document and application assistance; individual life skills coaching; direct access to employment, education, and training programs; a Rent Bank; seasonal energy grants (hydro and gas) to prevent disconnection; specialized services for women; and a drop-in program. The Centre also offers workshops on tenant rights and responsibilities, an identification clinic, and private counselling for victims of domestic violence.
